Applications of Elastic Materials in bridges and buildings
Elastic materials are utilized in the following applications viz.,

OF ELASTIC MATERIALS IN BRIDGES AND BUILDINGS
Elastic
materials are utilized in the following applications viz.,
(i)
Metallic ropes are used in cranes to lift heavy weight, which depends on the
elastic limit of the material.
(ii)
Elastic materials plays a vital role in designing safe and stable man‒made
structures such as skyscrapers and lifts.
(iii)
Elastic materials are used in designing beam to support load (in construction
of roofs and bridges).
(iv)
They are also used to determine the strength and load carrying ability of
Engineering structures including buildings, bridges, cars, planes, air crafts
and thousands of machine parts.
(v)
In medical field, elastin and collagen are the two main components of elastic
tissues, which provides the tissue with elasticity and mechanical strength,
respectively.
