ABOUT MEASUREMENT
For measuring a given
quantity, we have to compare the quantity to be measured with a standard
quantity. The instrument which is doing this process is called measuring instruments.
We have current, voltage and power as the three basic electrical quantities for
measurement. The measurement of these quantities is important as it is used for
the measurement of other quantities and for testing purposes.
• The basic
requirements of the measuring instrument are:
• The operation, output
and condition of the actual circuit should not be affected/altered with the
presence of measuring instruments.
• The quantity to be
measured should not be affected by the measuring instrument.
• The measuring
instrument should consume less power as low as possible.
