Quantum Gates
Quantum gates are the building blocks of quantum circuits, just like logic gates (AND, OR, NOT) are the building blocks of classical circuits.
QUANTUM GATES
Quantum
gates are the building blocks of quantum
circuits, just like logic gates (AND, OR, NOT) are the building blocks of
classical circuits.
Quantum
gates are operations that change the state of a qubit.
Since,
quantum computers use qubits, not classical bits, quantum gates behave
differently.
Unlike
classical gates (AND, OR, NOT), quantum gates are reversible and represented
bymatrices.
They
are mathematical transformations applied to quantum states.
A
qubit can be in a combination of |0> and |1>, so gates operate on these
superpositions, not just fixed values.
In
short, Quantum gates are operations that manipulate qubits using reversible,
matrix‒based transformations and allow quantum computing to perform tasks
impossible for classical computers.
