APPLICATIONS OF LASER
1. Property: It has
Narrow band width and angular spread
Due
to this property, it is used in communications, to transmit thousands of
programs, transmitting signals from longer distances called as long haul
communication system.
2. Property: It is not
absorbed by water
Hence
they are used in underwater communication between the submarines, which is very
useful for military.
3. Property: It has
high penetrating power

It is useful to (a) blast holes in diamonds and hard steels.
(b)
It is used in drilling minute holes in cellwalls of human body.

Using lasers, Cancer treatment can also be done.
(d)
It is used to destroy tumors.

It is further used in laser printing and in computer storage devices.
