Frequency of Rotor Current - Induction Motor
Rotor current frequency = per unit slip × supply frequency
FREQUENCY
OF ROTOR CURRENT
When the rotor is
stationary, the frequency of rotor current is the same as the supply frequency
= NSP / 120. But when the rotor starts rotating, then the frequency
depends upon the relative speed or on slip‒speed.
For a rotor speed N,
the relative speed between the rotating magnetic field and the rotor is (NS‒N).
Hence the rotor frequency is given by,

' = (NS‒N)P / 120
ƒ' = sf
ƒ' = sf
i.e., Rotor current
frequency = per unit slip × supply frequency
